Salons need websites that do a few things well: show off the work, make booking easy, and build trust with new clients. This starter site handles all three.
The homepage leads with strong visuals and clear calls to action. Get directions, book a cut, check specials. The services page breaks down offerings without overwhelming visitors.
Works for independent stylists, barbershops, beauty salons, or any business where appointments and personal service matter.

2025 year in review
We shipped 11 releases this year, made substantial performance gains, and rebuilt several core systems. Here’s what we delivered.
Editor improvements
UI/UX Refinements — We reorganised the toolbar layout for more intuitive access, moved link settings to a dedicated tab, and removed unnecessary toolbars from Button and Image blocks. Small changes that add up to a cleaner editing experience.
Starter Sites & Quick Start Wizard — New users can now launch a pre-built site and configure WordPress essentials in a few steps. A smoother onboarding experience.
Translation System — We rebuilt the localisation architecture to work properly on WordPress.org, improving plugin accessibility for international users.
Performance
We put consistent effort into speed this year:
- Memory and speed optimisations across the Editor Experience and Site Editor
- Dynamic Content and Content Loop performance improvements
- Frontend scripts and styles now load conditionally — no Maxi blocks on the page means no unnecessary code loading
- General backend speed improvements
LLM integration
Maxi AI now supports GPT-5 plus gpt-o1 and o3 models depending on your OpenAI key permissions. The interface got usability improvements in both the editor and dashboard.
Technical foundations
Testing Infrastructure — We built out unit test coverage throughout the year. Each major release added more. This means fewer regressions and more stable releases going forward.
PHP 8.4 Support — Full compatibility with the latest PHP versions.
WordPress 6.8/6.9 Compatibility — We kept pace with WordPress core updates, including adapting to changes in 6.8 and 6.9
Multisite Support — Improved compatibility when network-activated.
Security
Two vulnerabilities were addressed this year via responsible disclosure: a Broken Access Control issue in September and an authorisation vulnerability (CVE-2025-47601) in June. Thanks to the researchers who reported them.
Stability and reliability
We shipped over 70 improvements to make the editing experience smoother. Synced blocks and template parts render consistently across your site. The Interaction Builder handles Show/Hide actions reliably. Copy-paste transfers all settings between blocks.
ACF fields integrate properly with Dynamic Content. Style Cards apply colour tones correctly. Pagination works with nested taxonomies. Scroll effects perform well on mobile. Keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+B and Ctrl+I work as expected. Multiple Map blocks with different providers coexist without conflict.
Pro to Cloud rebrand
In November 2025, we renamed “Pro” to “Cloud Library.” This better reflects what you’re actually getting: premium design assets delivered from the cloud, not locked features hiding behind a paywall. Every foundation block, every tool, every capability remains free. Cloud Library is simply where the time-saving designs live.
Taking a holiday break
We’re stepping away for Christmas and New Year. The next starter site will arrive at the end of February 2026.
